Domaine LA Terrasse D'Elise CUVEE LE PRADEL Vin de Pays de l'Herault
Description: The new, small domaine of La Terrasse d'Elise was started in 1998 by Xavier Braujou who has had an illustrious career as a stagiaire, or apprentice, having served time at Mas de Daumas Gassac, as well as in Alsace. His vines and the wine are treated as naturally as possible, with minimum treatments in the vineyards, and with no finings, natural yeasts, and very little sulphur used in the winemaking process. Although 85% of Xavier's land is within the Appellation, all his wines are labelled as Vin de Pays, to allow him more room to express the character of each varietal. He is one of the last vignerons to graft his own vines in the vineyard, allowing him to continue a selection massale, choosing the vine stocks from within his own domaine, with no clonal vines. The domaine is named after his father's aunt, Elise, and this cuvee "Le Pradel" is made from 100% Cinsault, aged 12 months in barrique, with low yields of around 25 hectolitres per hectare. The result is a peppery slightly "confit" fruit nose showing notes too of violets, caramelised orange and olive. The palate of prunes, figs, and red fruits possess an unusual and very individual in style. (12 x 75 cl)

La Cave De Morgex et De La Salle CHAUDE LUNE VIN DE GLACE Vallee D'Aosta
Description: The region of Valle d'Aosta has an ancient history of winemaking, even though the steep mountain slopes and harsh, cold climate might suggest otherwise. Historically however, wine production from the region was confined to individual 'backyard vineyards' of usually no more than 2,500 square meters. In 1983, thanks in part to the efforts of the region's local government, these efforts were officially acknowledged and the Cooperative estate, Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, was born. This cooperative took control of its newly built winery, well-equipped with all the technology needed to produce high-quality fine wines and began producing the region's traditional wine varieties. The local growers of the co-op are for the most part retired persons who tend their vines as they would a garden, following specific guidelines set up by the cooperative itself. Today the Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle produces over 140,000 bottles annually of 5 different traditional Valle D'Aosta wines. This unfailing commitment to the Valle D'Aosta wine-making has literally saved the region's history and culture from extinction, making these beautiful wines, and a part of Valle D'Aosta's culture. Available in 50 cl bottles. (12 x 50 cl)

Brac de la Perriere Chateau De La Pilonniere Brouilly
Description: Vintners and wine makers since 1574, the Brac de la Perriere family owns some of the most picturesque properties in Burgundy, Beaujolais-Maconnais, and Cotes du Rhone regions. In 1784, when Jacques Joseph Brac de la Perrière moved to Château de la Pilonniere, located on the slopes of the Brouilly hill, he did not think that he would be guillotined 15 years later. His sons, grandsons and descendants have maintained and developped the 9 hectare estate, always keeping the family tradition of vinifying in the original vat-room. A typical Brouilly wine, it is elegant with a deep red colour and red fruit aromas. A great Gamnay, this wine is showing blackcurrant flavours that combine with a silky texture and ripe tannins on the finish. (12 x 75 cl)
