Description: In 1826, the proprietor of Chateau Langoa, Hugh Barton, purchased a part of the Leoville estate. His part from there on became known as LeovilleBarton. Six generations of Bartons have since followed and have continued to preserve the quality of the wine. In 1983 Anthony Barton, the present owner, was given the property by his uncle, Ronald Barton. Anthony Barton's daughter, Lilian Barton Sartorius, now helps her father in managing the estate.
