LouisLatourMeursault AC
Description: Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive northerly white wine commune of the Côte-d'Or. The perfect south-easterly exposure and the stony, marl soil contribute greatly to the remarkable finesse of which the wines of Meursault are capable. Typical Meursaults tend to be very full, mellow wines and mature somewhat sooner than the wines from the neighbouring communes of Puligny and Chassagne. The wine is full in the mouth and well-structured showing exotic fruitiness and a nutty, spicy character. It can be drunk when young but patience is amply repaid. Yellow and gold in appearance with good concentration from this powerful Meursault which has aromas of apricot stones and toasted hazelnuts. A very attractive wine with a long, clean finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £291.34

LouisLatour Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Truffieres
Description: Home to some of the world's most extraordinary Chardonnays including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Batard-Montrachet. The village wines are racy with a bouquet of almonds, fern, hawthorn and peaches. The flavours are rich but steely, a characteristic that often distinguishes them from their neighbours in Meursault and Chassagne. Puligny-Montrachet 1998 tasted April 11th 2000: Pale lemon in colour with a gentle aroma of toast, with soft fruity citrus, and buttery hints. The palate is fatter, showing typical Puligny characters, elegant, mineral and charming fruit. Still youthful, with an exciting future ahead. Soil: Limestone and scree. Vinification: Oak aged in cask with 100% malolactic fermentation. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £695.76
