Liberty Wines CALBUCO Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot Central Valley Chile
Description: The Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from Calbuco has great depth of colour, with perfumes of blackcurrant and a hint of tobacco leaf from the addition of the Merlot , which gives way to a soft, ripe rounded fruit character, with supple tannins and a juicy finish. In 2005 winemaker Alberto Antonini visited this producer to look at their vineyards and wines in tank and, following his input, they have now put together these blends which we think offer superb value within the Chilean sector. Calbuco is a volcano in the Andes, as striking a symbol of Chile as its wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: This Semillon/Chardonnay is light lemon yellow in colour and is clean and lifted on the nose, with perfumes of fresh, ripe melon and a citrus tang. On the palate it has an attractive depth which comes from the lees ageing. This is balanced by a zesty, lemon/lime acidity on the finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles and 20% Syrah from the Central Coast. The Paso Robles fruit, thanks to cool, moderating breezes from the sea is ripe yet elegant, while the Syrah adds a mulberryish character to the wine.
