Domaine des Grands Presbyteres Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur Lie
Description: Good quality Muscadet has sadly become a rarity to find. As a classic Muscadet sur Lie, this is a hugely versatile style of wine. Limpid green reflections and a dry, crisp palete with superb acidity and green apple flavours. Marries perfectly with traditional dishes such as Moules Marineres and oysters. Grapes are sourced from a small producer in St Fiacre – the best area for Muscadet sur Lie. The wine is left on the lees for several months prior to bottling to add complexity (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau de l'Oiseliniere Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie
Description: The 10 hectare vineyard is uniquely situated facing south on a dome shaped hill overhanging the bank of the river Sevre and close to the confluence of the Sevre and the Maine. The vineyard itself looks like a little island and is surrounded by natural coppice. This enables the site to be managed ecologically, fighting pests and deseases with natural methods. Pests are treated with specific hormones so they cannot breed and mildew is only fought with Bordeaux mixture. Part of the harvest is picked by hand and the vines used are over forty years old. The wine follows the traditional method of maturation on the lees and the 'batonnage' process to develop aromas and complexity. All the wine is estate bottled in the Spring following the harvest. (12 x 75 cl)
Price: £93.91

Domaine des Dorices Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine sur Lie
Description: The Boullault family estate, established in 1930, is located just outside Vallet in the heart of Muscadet Sevre de Maine. Over 40 years ago, Leon Boullault took the revolutionary step to convert his family's vineyards to organic farming. The results of this wise decision are in the intensely clean, vivid fruit flavours of his wines. Great care is taken not only in the vineyard but also the winery where this wine is barrel-fermented and spends time on the lees of its own fermentation with frequent battonage then bottled before release. A zesty nose full of white fruit flavours including apple and apricot as well as a little minerality. The aromas develop on the palate with good acidity and balance before a crisp finish. Available in half bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)
Price: £118.70
