He took advantage of opportunities to buy parcels of various vineyards, and finally quit the shipper trade when he had acquired enough. Based mainly in the Côte de Nuits, spread through the appellations of Nuit-St-Georges, Morey-St-Denis, Vosne Romanée and Chambolle Musigny, where it is planted with 90% Pinot Noir. In addition the Domaine have a small vineyard in the grand cru Clos de la Roche in Morey-St-Denis. The remaining 10% of grapes produced are evenly divided between Chardonnay and Aligote. Their annual production of 2,500 cases comes in 13 different bottlings and availability is strictly limited. Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut has been run since 1985 by brothers Vincent and PhilippeLecheneaut.
