Description: It was the vine-tender Giuseppe Mascarello who began the family business back in 1881, in the village of Monforte d'Alba, where he purchased a site in Regione Pian della Polvere. Today, the family still run this well respected winery producing great wines that are a real reflection of the region. The SantoStefano hill in Perno, in the commune of Monforte d'Alba is where the Nebbiolo grapes are grown and once in the winery the wine is matured in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels for around 36 months. The result is a garnet red coloured wine with orange-coloured highlights. The nose is very fruity, elegant, intense and gives way to an excellent body with power and stuffing and can be characterised by the full, well-balanced style. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £282.42
