La Braccesca SANTA PIA Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
Description: Antinori are the owners of the La Braccesca estate and have lived in Florence since the early 13th century when they moved from Calenzano, a small town between Florence and Prato, where their presence was recorded back in 1188. Wine is part of the family history and as early as 1385 Giovanni di Piero Antinori registered with the Guild of Winemakers. The La Braccesca Estate is approximately 342 ha and is divided into two main blocks: the historical part of the estate is situated in the Montepulciano area and covers 78 ha of vineyards; the other covers 165 ha of vineyards, and is situated at the foot of the hills around Cortona. This wine is made from a 15 hectare vineyard at Santa Pia, one of the best-known areas for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano production. The vineyard is planted with Prugnolo Gentile , carefully selected over the years to obtain a cru that best expresses the personality of this area. The grapes from the vineyard 'Santa Pia' in the Montepulciano district were destemmed and crushed and maceration took place over a period of 20 days during which time the wine also completed its alcoholic fermentation at a temperature not exceeding 30ºC. The wine was then racked and completed its malolactic fermentation in French and Hungarian barrique. After this the wine was aged for a period of 15 months in barrique, during this time the wine was racked several times. 'Santa Pia' was then bottled and further aged for 12 months before release. Using the Sangiovese clone Prugnolo Gentile this is a deep red coloured wine with aromas of red fruit and hints of vanilla. On the palate it is rich with an excellent structure and tannins well balanced and soft culminating in an enjoyable finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Fattoria Nicodemi Cerasuolo Rose Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC
Description: DESCRIPTION: Cerasuolo is the only appellation in Italy of a rosé styled wine that prescribes this wine to obtain its color via a short maceration of the skins, rather than a via a so-called salasso, a bleeding of the red wine vinification. With the Montepulciano grape being fairly rich in color, here at Nicodemi an elegant style is favored with an extremely short extraction, and an emphasis on great depth of fruit and texture. (12 x 75 cl)

Il Faggio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Description: This Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is intense red/black in colour so characteristic of the Montepulciano grape variety. It has a concentrated black fruit and coffee nose, with more fruit perfumes in this vintage and less mocha. On the palate it is intense and chocolatey, with a chocolate cherry character supported by robust but supple tannins. In 2006, winemaker Alana Mcgettigan kept the wine on skins for a shorter period in order to extract finer tannins and produce a more supple and approachable wine. (12 x 75 cl)
