GiacomoMontresor Amarone Classico del FONDATORE Veneto
Description: A blend of 60% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara grapes grown on the Montresor estate produces one of the finest wines to come from the Verona area. The grapes are picked in October and are left to dry for four months in the granaries of the estate prior to vinification. The wine is then allowed to age for at least four years in old oak casks in the private cellar of the founder GiacomoMontresor. This full bodied and ultra smooth Amarone is characterized by a deep red colour with pomegranate reflections; an ethereal bouquet reminiscent of peach blossoms, violets, raspberries, and mint; and compound flavours with clear shades of dried grapes. Truly a remarkable wine, of which only 3,000 cases are produced annually, it is best opened for two hours prior to serving at room temperature. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £133.53

Giacomo Ascheri BRICCO SAN GIACOMO Nebbiolo D'Alba Piemonte
Description: The Giacomo Ascheri Cellars originated in La Morra: in that area, where a place called “Ascheri” still exists, in the early 19th century the first vines were planted and the first wines produced. In 1880 the winery was moved from La Morra to Bra, where it is still situated today. In a world where wines are generally produced with the same grapes, the same technology, the same wood for ageing and above all the same consultants, Ascheri's aim is to obtain a wine which is the expression of the vineyard it comes from, the grapes it was made of, and above all Giacomo Ascheri own ideas. In order to achieve this, Giacomo Ascheri have chosen a natural approach, with a moderate use of technology, without changing the nature of the wine with special procedures. They have attached new importance to old oak barrel ageing making choices entirely by ourselves. 100% Nebbiolo grape and harvested by hand in early October from the Bricco San Giacomo vineyard in Verduno. The wine is aged 14 months in stanless steel tanks, 4 months in Slavonian oak and a further 4 months in the bottle. This Nebbiolo is a ruby red colour with garnet red nuancesand an elegant bouquet, with velvety violet and pleasant spicy notes. A pleasantly harmonious wine, remarkably persistent, soft with a dry palate. Harmonious and charming with great balance and tipicity this wine is completed with a great finish.
