Omaka Springs Estates is a family business owned by Geoff and Robina Jensen. The vineyards consist of 178 acres that lie across the Omaka Valley in the heart of Marlborough’s wine growing area. The first vines were planted in 1989 and further developed when Omaka Springs Estates were established in 1992. The winemaker Ian Marchant has been with Omaka Springs since 1997 and this Sauvignon Blanc is grown in a perfect combination of warm sunny days and cool nights to produce the highest quality grapes for use in their wines. The grapes were harvested meticulously on an early April morning whilst the day was still cool, and then immediately crushed, juiced, and then settled, racked off the lees before ferment at 12°C. The wine was then carefully blended with a delicate amount of Semillon and then held in temperature controlled conditions until final filtering before bottling. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a pale straw coloured wine with green tints. On the nose it is showing herbaceous with grassy and gooseberry flavours while the palate is refreshing with zesty flavours and a sliver of sweetness. (12 x 75 cl)

Omaka Springs Estate Riesling Marlborough NZ
Description: Omaka Springs Estates is a family business owned by Geoff and Robina Jensen. The grapes were machine harvested on the morning in early May when they were at full ripe maturity. After careful extraction the juice was settled and racked off the lees before fermenting at 12°C. Fermentation was stopped to achieve the desired residual sugar level and the wine held in temperature controlled conditions until final filtering just two months later. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced pale straw coloured wine with green tints. On the nose are lemon and lime-evoking aromas that develop on the palate of this zesty wine.

Omaka Springs Estate FALVEYS Pinot Noir Marlborough NZ
Description: Omaka Springs Estates is a family business owned by Geoff and Robina Jensen. Four new clones of Pinot Noir were used to create this wine. The fruit was hand picked in the cool of the early morning, crushed and cold soaked for seven days. It underwent a warm ferment before going into new French oak barriques. This wine was bottled without fining or filtration. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a deep ruby red coloured wine with purple tints. Beringer STONE CELLARS Sauvignon Blanc California
Description: When making the Stone Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, Winemaker Mary Sullivan focused on retaining the bright crisp fruit flavors of Sauvignon Blanc and highlighting the wine with subtle undertones of toasty vanilla and rich creamy peaches. In the final blend, Mary chose to complement the green apple and crisp citrus of the Sauvignon Blanc with approximately nine-percent Semillon for depth, complexity, and fullness with slight amounts of Gewürztraminer for a floral and spice notes and Chenin Blanc for a peachy softness. To round out the flavors with toasty, spice nuances, she barrel fermented a portion of the wine in French and American oak barrels for approximately two months. (12 x 75 cl)
