Domaine de la Vougeraie CLOS DU PRIEURE Blanc Vougeot Description: Though Vougeot is best known for the highly reputed Clos deVougeot, covering almost 126 acres, the Premier Cru and Village appellations in the remaining 41 acres should not be forgotten. This 100% Chardonnay is aged in barrels for 11 months and is a pale golden colour full of light, with green hints. A good nose it is quite closed, which opens after aeration to reveal mineral notes, almost chalky, complimented by floral and menthol fragrances. The attack is clean, the mouth voluptuous, yet elegant, with aromas of bitter almond, held together by good acidity which brings its crispness to the fore. With a length worthy of a 1er cru, it has a savory finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £401.26
