Description: TASTING NOTES A concentrated rich and full wine with flavours of spices, creamy dark fruit and a smoky undertone. The 1999 Shiraz was the Maiden vintage for Uiterwyk Wine Estate, and is the only Shiraz in South Africa made in true Northern Rhône tradition where 5% Viognier is added to develop a softer more fragrant style. IN THE VINEYARD The DeWaal Shiraz is produced from a 25-year-old vineyard grown on gravel and loam soil. This single vineyard only produced 200 cases.
