Maison Albert Bichot LES DAMES HUGUETTES Hautes Cotes de Nuits
Description: Albert Bichot was founded in 1831-it is still actively managed by the Bichot family. They are both growers and negodants, paying equal attention to the negociant wines as they do to their own; however, it is the company's domaines in which we have greatest interest. Over the years Bichot has carefully cherry-picked and purchased domaines and properties in Burgundy which have either an existing reputation or at least the potential for greatness. Once purchased, each domaine is put under the control of a grower/winemaker who enjoys a large degree of autonomy from the parent company. The result is a selection of outstanding domaine wines of great integrity, superb character and, most importantly, a true ‘gout de terroir' (12 x 75 cl) Price: £155.72

Hillsview Vineyards WINEMAKERS SELECTION Chardonnay Verdelho McLaren Vale South Australia
Description: Brett Howard, winemaker at Blewitt Springs, grew up on his parents' vineyard at McLaren Vale and has the wine industry in his blood. Before starting his own company he gathered experience in both large, established wine companies and smaller, specialist boutique wineries. He uses this experience to good effect at Blewitt Springs where he aims to offer quality and value, producing wines of richness, intensity and longevity. Fruit is sourced from the Blewitt Springs area of the McLaren Vale, its higher altitude, deep draining sandy soil and cooler micro-climate giving intense flavours and good structure. Langhorne Creek and Adelaide Plains fruit is also used giving wines with a natural softness and generous, full body. Once in the winery small French oak barrels are used to mature the Blewitt Springs reds while whites may go through malolactic fermentation for added complexity and longevity. Around 11,000 cases are produced per year. Brett's careful and informed winemaking ensures that the natural balance, structure and flavour of the fruit are always kept firmly in focus. This has produced a lovely yellow coloured wine dominated by ripe tropical fruit flavours, while subtle oak and a creamy texture are balanced by acidity leading to a lingering finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £88.14

Domaine Michel Gros Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru
Description: The Gros dynasty began in the early 1800's when Alphonse Gros married Madame Latour, settling in Vosne-Romanee. Since that time there have been great changes in both the estate and the approach to making wine. Today, Michel is in charge of the Estate and has been winemaking for the last 15 years. However, it was only in 1997 that his parents Jean and Jeanine retired and handed on the domaine to their children. Divided 3 ways between the siblings Michel has the whole of 'Clos des Reas' at the expense of losing Richebourg to his sister. Currently, he is adding small parcels of fine vineyards in Vosne and Chambolle as fast as he can find them available (6 x 75 cl) Price: £274.18
