Perrin Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise
Description: The traditions behind the fine wines made by the Perrinfamily date back to 1909. At that time, Gabriel Tramier, an olive grower, purchased the Chateau de Beaucastel. Tramier's son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, then took over the wine estate, where he worked in total respect of the traditional wine-making methods. Pierre Perrin's scientific background also led him to introduce new techniques. His phylosophy was straightforward: Wine must be made from natural ingredients. To make such wines, Pierre Perrin considered that only the healthiest, naturally ripened grapes should be harvested, deliberately opting for low yields. In his opinion, man must respect and work with the forces of nature, and take great care not to deteriorate them. Pierre Perrin wanted the soils to express their intrinsic characteristics, and to find their natural expresssion in the wines made at Beaucastel. The company is now managed by the fifth generation of the Perrinfamily, which has pursued the same philosophy established by their fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers. The result of these unwavering efforts are revealed in each one of the wines they make. This is a blend of 60% Muscat a petits grains blancs and 40% Muscat a petits grains noirs showing an intense muscatel nose with a little mint.
