This Soave Classico is a bright, very pale gold colour, with youthful greenish lights. On the nose it is delicately perfumed, with aromas of white flowers, and almondy notes characteristic of good Soave Classico. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. This was an excellent vintage, producing wines with a beautiful balance of fruit and zesty freshness which lasts through to the finish. Nobody else has spent the past 35 years getting to know Garganega and the vineyards of Soave Classico in the same intimate detail as Nino Pieropan. He ensures that his work in the cellar retains and amplifies the quality and style provided by the vineyard. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave . (12 x 75 cl)

Pieropan PASSITO della ROCCA Veneto
Description: The Pieropan sweet wines are masterpieces. The Passito della Rocca is made from a blend of 2/3 Sauvignon and 1/3 Riesling Italico, dried until the middle of December and then fermented in barrique. The wine is voluptuous with flavours of apricots mingling with the honeyed fruit. If Nino Pieropan weren't a winemaker, he'd be a watchmaker, says Franco Allegrini, It is because of his attention to the small details of white wine making that his wines are so outstanding. Pieropan himself says that his quality derives from doing a series of small things right, from the moment you pick up the secateurs to the time the cork goes into the bottle. Pieropan's quality, rather unusually for a producer of white wines, is attributable largely to the work undertaken on the estate's 30 hectares of vineyard. He then ensures that his work in the cellar retains and amplifies the quality and style provided by the vineyard. (6 x 50 cl) Price: £143.29

Pieropan LE COLOMBARE Recioto di Soave Classico Veneto
Description: Le Colombare from Pieropan is obtained from the shrivelled recie of choice Garganega grapes, the top part of each bunch, with the ripest and best exposed berries. The bunches are laid out on traditional straw mats, in well aired rooms for a few months. In early spring, the semi-dried grapes are pressed, and the resulting juice is fermented and aged in oak barrels for two years. Intense gold, almost amber coloured, delicately reminiscent of exotic fruit and apricots on the nose, its initial impression on the palate is delicately sweet, a prelude to pleasing and unexpected aromatic complexity. Pieropan’s estate covers 30 hectares of vineyard, all of which are situated on the hills of the Soave Classico zone. The Pieropan family has been producing wines in Soave since the 1860s. Indeed, they were the first producer to bottle a wine with the name Soave on the label, in the early 1930s. Nino Pieropan took over from his father in 1970, and was the first to produce a single vineyard wine, Calvarino, in 1971. The Calvarino vineyard has been in the family since 1901. Pieropan RUBERPAN Rosso Veneto
Description: In 1999, the Pieropan family bought a property in Cellore d’Illasi, in the production area of Valpolicella and Amarone. They also purchased Villa Cipolla, an eighteenth century rural residence close to the property in Tregnago, in which to produce the wine. The vineyards here face south, with rich limestone and clay soils, perfect for the production of complex and elegant wines. This is the first time Pieropan has produced a red wine, and it is Nino's sons, Andrea and Dario Pieropan, who have created it themselves. The 2003 is the first vintage they have released, made from the Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina Veronese grape varieties. Although a departure from the traditional Pieropan range, the Ruberpan Rosso shares many of the Pieropan characteristics; unrelenting attention to detail from berry to bottle, exceptional balance and purity, and above all, outstanding quality. Produced as an IGT wine in order to allow them the freedom to experiment and make a true Pieropan-style wine, it is a stunning debut. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £111.15

Its rich luscious fruit has flavours of almonds and hazelnuts that linger for ages on the palate. This 30-hectare estate is situated in the heart of the Soave Classico zone in the Veneto, north eastern Italy. Pieropan LA ROCCA Soave Classico Veneto
Description: La Rocca is undoubtedly the greatest expression of Soave. Named after the eponymous vineyard that sits above the castello on a limestone outcrop unique in Soave, La Rocca is made solely from Garganega and is rich, spicy, long and complex. Fermentation takes place in used 500 litre oak casks , before being transferred to large casks. The oak enhances the natural richness of the old Garganega vines to produce one of Italy's great white wines. This vintage is rich and opulent, yet sleek and racy. Intense yellow in colour, it has perfumes of honeysuckle and almonds, ripe but restrained fruit and a long, nutty finish. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £126.91
