Petaluma Chardonnay has characteristic ripe peach aromas and the texture and flavour dimension conferred by the high degree of ripeness. The mineral aroma and finish is due to the old geology and soils of the Piccadilly Valley. The hand harvested small bunches of Chardonnay from Petaluma's six distinguished site vineyards in the Piccadilly Valley were crushed and chilled to press, immediately upon arrival in the winery. The heart run juice was separated by gravity and gentle pressing and allowed to settle to clarity by the action of gravity in cooled, insulated tanks. The clear juice was racked to new medium toast Vosges barriques for prolonged fermentation with Petaluma's own yeast strains. Following primary fermentation, the malolactic fermentation by Petaluma's own bacteria strains was allowed to go to completion in barriques. For the next four months the wine was stirred on lees in barrique on a weekly basis (6 x 75 cl)

Petaluma TIERS Chardonnay Adelaide Hills South Australia
Description: Tiers Chardonnay is the fourth release from this special vineyard and represents the vineyard at its best. The aroma is of pear and white peach with loads of complexity; clove and cinnamon and vanilla from the oak and creamy brioche characters from the malolactic and lees stirring. A wet stone, mineral element in the aroma persists through the flavour. The wine is more than moderately viscous because of the low crop level but retains an austerity of finish typical of the wines of the Tiers Vineyard (6 x 75 cl)

Petaluma CROSER Sparkling Vintage Brut Adelaide Hills South Australia
Description: The aroma is of apples and faint strawberry with brioche and cream fermentation characters. The subtle fruit and freshness is due to the cool humid climate of the Piccadilly Valley as is the acid spine and savoury finish of the wine. The mineral elements in the aroma and the wet quartz finish are due to the old geology and soils of the Piccadilly Valley. The small beaded, creamy textured mousse of Croser is typical of the breed and is due to the substance in the special Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the Piccadilly Valley (6 x 75 cl)

Coriole Estate Sangiovese McLaren Vale South Australia
Description: Depending on the vintage, a portion of Sangiovese is kept in stainless steel, a portion into newer oak barrels, and the majority is matured in older oak. These components are blended together prior to bottling. The resultant wine is lighter to medium bodied, frequently showing rich fruit flavours of dark cherry and spice balanced by crisp acidity. It is an ideal accompaniment to many types of food including rich Italian pasta and mild Thai dishes. Careful cellaring for 3-5 years will allow this wine to develop extra complexity. Coriole Estate was established by the Lloyd family in 1967 in the hills overlooking the McLaren Vale wine region and Gulf St Vincent. Coriole remains today as a small family owned company specialising in Shiraz, but which has also been at the forefront of producing Sangiovese in Australia. The estate is run by Mark Lloyd and his brother Paul. The winemaker since 1999 is Grant Harrison ex Petaluma and Primo Estate. The average age of the vineyards is 30-35 years old with the oldest block planted in 1919. The Mary Kathleen 1998 obtained a Parker 94 rating (12 x 75 cl)
