The Sangiovese is harvested at the end of September to mid October. Maceration takes place in Stainless steel tanks for 16 days and aged 20 months, partyl in barriques and partly tonneaux. The name of this wine is linked with an old property of the Ricasoli family and exalts a smooth and volutptuous taste. Ruby red coloured wine with aromas of blackberry, raspberry, violets and vanilla. Rounded and mellow this wine has a velvety body, generous flavor, rich in tannins and a great finish. The grapes are harvested in the beginning of September to mid October and fermentation takes place in Stainless steel with maceration of 18 days for Sangiovese and 16 days for Merlot. This is followed by 18 months in barriques. Casalferro carries the name of the vineyard from where the grapes originate and is a modern winemaking interpretation combined with the best Ricasoli tradition. The wine is has a complex, intense and persistent bouquet with smoky, almost mineral overtones. Soft and velvety tannins are evident in the wine which is characterised by its full-body and a long, intense finish.
