Description: SanValentino is a small winery and was purchased by its current owner, Robert Mascarin in 1990, with its first commercial vintage in 1997. In 2000 Fabrizio Moltard was hired as a wine consultant and the results are evident and this wine had been awarded the prestigious Tre Bicchieri or Three Glass award in the 2004 Gambera Rosso, the Italian wine bible. Hugely intense nose with big, ripe fruits and chocolaty oak with massive, opulent, black cherry fruit, toasty oak flavours. In the mouth, the massive structure with its complicated tannic structure is complimented by the dominating fruit. With a fantastic palate and great persistence this is a wine to be enjoyed.
