Seifried ESTATE Pinot Noir Nelson NZ
Description: Winemakers Note: A new clone of Pinot Noir which has improved the colour and flavour of this variety has been producing in Seifrieds vineyard since 1993. Careful canopy management and leaf removal around the fruit zone allowed the sun to fully ripen the fruit. The grapes were crushed and fermented on their skins. After pressing, the young wine underwent a malolactic fermentation before spending time in new and two year old French and American oak barriques respectively. Tasting Note: Richly coloured, fragrant, warm and mouth filling, this wine has excellent depth of berries and spice, with a slight earthiness which adds complexity to a delicious wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Seifried ESTATE Sauvignon Blanc Nelson NZ
Description: Winemakers Note: The lovely fresh aromatic varietal flavours were encouraged in the vineyard by reducing vigour in the vines and extensive leaf plucking. The summer and autumn were very warm and dry so the fruit was extremely ripe, intense in flavour and very varietal. After pressing, the wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain these aromatic characters. Tasting Note: The colour is bright and lively. The nose is delicious (12 x 75 cl)

Seifried Estates OLD COACH ROAD Sauvignon Blanc Nelson NZ
Description: Winemakers Note: In the vineyard we removed leaves around the fruiting zone to allow light penetration and air movement around the ripening bunches. We achieved excellent ripeness and very strong intense varietal flavours following a warm dry summer. Tasting Note: Fresh, lively and herbaceous with delicious passionfruit flavours in the mouth. The wine is nicely integrated and has a long memorable finish. Our Rabbit Island vineyards are situated on a wide river flat. The soil is made up of gravelly sandy loam, which marks the sites of kumara beds prior to European settlement in the early 1800's. The Maori transferred and spread fine gravel and sand over the land to provide suitable soils for their kumara plantings. Scrub was burned to give ash and charcoal, which increased soil fertility and gave characteristic topsoil. This fertility is now considerably reduced with modern farming. The soils are however very sandy and gravely and free draining. The water table is relatively high ensuring adequate underground water. These vineyards are about 1.5 kilometres from the sea, which helps moderate summer temperature. (12 x 75 cl)

Seifried Estates OLD COACH ROAD Unoaked Chardonnay Nelson NZ
Description: Winemakers Note: Traditionally Chardonnay is made in an oaked style, however, we are often asked: what does Chardonnay as a grape variety with no oak aging taste like? This is it. The grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, cold fermented to retain crisp fruit flavours, and then a portion was inoculated for malolactic fermentation. The wine was blended and bottled in July. Tasting Note: Beautiful tropical fruit on the nose is supported by intense apple and stone fruit flavours on the palate. Fresh citrus characters are softened by a slightly buttery finish. This wine is easy drinking, with an attractive weight and body. With tastes like these, its appeal is to drink now rather than cellar too long! The Vineyards: Our Rabbit Island vineyards are situated on a wide river flat. Coriole Estate ESTATE Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Description: Tasting note: This wine shows subtle aromas of dark fruits and spice reflected on the palate, with tight acid and fine grained savoury tannins that combine with dark berries and subtle notes of spicy, peppery characters. Coriole Estate was established by the Lloyd family in 1967 in the hills overlooking the McLaren Vale wine region and Gulf St Vincent. Coriole remains today as a small family owned company specialising in Shiraz, but which has also been at the forefront of producing Sangiovese in Australia. The estate is run by Mark Lloyd and his brother Paul. The winemaker since 1999 is Grant Harrison ex Petaluma and Primo Estate. The average age of the vineyards is 30-35 years old with the oldest block planted in 1919. The Mary Kathleen 1998 obtained a Parker 94 rating (12 x 75 cl)
