The result is a Shiraz showing a lifted spice and plum nose with rich, ripe fruit on the palate. Trentham Estate Vineyards are highly regarded for their fruit quality with environmental sensitive vineyard practices. From the vineyard to the winery great care is taken in producing this wine including harvesting in the cool early morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Once in the winery the grapes were crushed into fermentation tanks and fermented ‘on skins’ for 7 days. After fermentation was completed the skins were pressed and the wine transferred to French oak for maturation. A range of oak ages were used so as to retain the fruit characteristics and after 8 months maturation the wine was blended and bottled for release.
