Description: Tommasi Viticoltori is a family firm founded in 1902 by Giacomo Tommasi and today the estate is run by the 4th generation of family. From grandfather Giacomo's tiny vineyard, the Tommasi estate has grown steadily and now extends over 135 hectares of hillside vineyard blessed by mother nature, not only by a magnificent landscape, but more importantly by its perfect suitability for grapes. The family owns exceptionally well situated estates for the production of high quality white wine in the D.O.C. regions of Soave and near Lake Garda for Lugana, Custoza and Bardolino . In addition, it has vineyards in Valdadige, a valley created by the Adige river in the mountains north of the province of Verona. This extraordinary wine is produced from grapes grown on the tiny terraced plot named 'Monte Croce', located on the 'Monte Foscarino' a prestigious hillside in the county of Monteforte near Soave. On the nose it is delicately perfumed, with aromas of white flowers, and almondy notes characteristic of good SoaveClassico. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. This was an excellent vintage, producing wines with a beautiful balance of fruit and zesty freshness which lasts through to the finish. Giacomo Montresor SoaveClassico Description: Region: from the SoaveClassico zone in the Veneto, around the towns of Soave and Monteforte d'Alpone. The vineyards are on the hillsides and valleys principally to the north of Soave which enjoys a southern exposure. Tasting note: a slightly more serious wine than basic Soave; fresh and aromatic with hints of nuts on the nose, leading into crisp, dry fruit with flavours of camomile.
