As one of the Barossa's premium winemakers St Hallett sources Shiraz grapes from a number of different vineyard site in both the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The common factor with all grapes destined for the Blackwell Shiraz and our flagship Old Black Shiraz is they come from vineyards aged from 70 up to 100 years. Mature, dry grown vineyards such as these produce tiny yields of highly concentrated fruit, and result in a wine style that is quite unique to the Barossa. Typically the Blackwell Shiraz shows sweet blackcurrant and plum characters on the nose wit a dusting of vanillin oak. These flavours carry through onto the palate which has rich, complex flavours of dark chocolate, cherry and spice with a smooth generous finish. We would recommend cellaring for six to eight years from vintage (6 x 75 cl)

Penfolds ST HENRI Shiraz South Australia
Description: Penfolds St Henri Shiraz is the enigma in the Penfolds range of reds: a richly flavoured, fruit-driven wine that is not aged in new American oak. Instead, St Henri is matured for 12 months in large, 2000-litre oak casks that impart almost no wood characters. Developed by former Penfolds winemaker John Davoren in 1956, the aim was to create a refined style of Shiraz with the capacity to age. The result is an elegant, supple Shiraz (6 x 75 cl)
