Elderton COMMAND Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
Description: The Elderton Command Shiraz has established an enviable reputation since the first vintage in 1984. It is truly one of Australia's best and most highly regarded Icon wines. The Elderton Command Shiraz grapes are grown on a selected portion of the Elderton Estate vineyard, from vines planted in the early 1900s. Grown on rich river silt soils and red brown earth over limestone, in a Mediterranean climate with cropping levels less than four tonnes per hectare. Minimal pressing, long fermentation, long term maturation and 12 months bottle age prior to release, make this quality wine complex and balanced with a long-term cellaring potential. Almost black, inky colour and a lifted bouquet with floral tones and a hint of cedar nose. It shows spicy lifted oak, with loads of plums and berry fruits and huge soft tannins. The wine is rich and powerful, yet balanced throughout. (6 x 75 cl)

Knappstein Shiraz Clare Valley South Australia
Description: Ripe berry fruit with a spicy peppery note. A silky texture. Fine natural tannins. Very enjoyable drinking now, or cellar for up to ten years.Clare Valley Shiraz is a regional speciality. Early in the 1980's our shiraz vines were grafted over to other more commercially viable varieties. The wheel has turned full circle and we have 'ungrafted' the chardonnay. The vines have reverted to original root stock, and we're in the exciting position of soon to have thirty-year old shiraz vines which in future vintages will be used for our Knappstein Shiraz. (6 x 75 cl)
