W & J Graham's 1980 Vintage Port
Description: Vintage Ports are only made on very exceptional years . The principal determining factor is the weather in the vineyards which must be ideal throughout the viticultural season and subsequently during the harvest. Only a few exceptional vineyards in the Upper Douro region produce wines of sufficient body and style to make a true Vintage Port. After the harvest, wines of Vintage potential are put into oak barrels called 'pipes'. Some eighteen months later a careful and painstaking series of tastings is held to judge exactly which wines of different vineyards merit inclusion in the final blend. If the ideal blend is achieved, the wine is then bottled without any filtration whatsoever approximately 24 months after the original harvest . Vintage Port must then be matured for some ten to twenty years in cool dark cellars as it gradually achieves the outstanding style of a great wine. The bottles should always be stored lying down. Vintage Ports deposit a heavy sediment or 'crust' in the bottle while maturing and must be decanted prior to serving. A very few Port companies, through having consistently produced great Vintage Ports over many years, enjoy outstanding reputations. Graham's is universally acknowledged to be a leader in this field. W & J Graham's QUINTA dos MALVEDOS Single Quinta Port
Description: Quinta dos Malvedos is rated among the finest vineyard properties in the Alto Douro. It lies on the north bank of the River Douro and its south-facing vineyards and very consistent climate ensure that in nearly every year the property will produce wines of first-class quality. The whole vineyard has the highest 'A' classification awarded by the controlling authorities. In 'declared' Vintage years the wines of Malvedos form the fundamental part of the blend which makes up Graham's Vintage Ports. In many other years when there is not enough top quality wine for Graham's to declare a Vintage, the wine of Malvedos is nevertheless so fine that it is bottled on its own, unblended, when two years old and left to mature in bottle like other Vintage Ports. Unlike declared Vintages, Malvedos Vintage Port is normally only shipped when ready for drinking by which time it is usually at least ten years old, although it continues to improve for many years more. Graham's have been offering Malvedos Vintage Port since 1951 and recent years to have been singled out for bottling include 1987, 1988 and 1990. Malvedos Vintage Port throws a similarly heavy crust to Graham's Vintage Ports and careful decanting is therefore required prior to serving. As with a declared Vintage, careful decanting is essential prior to serving. (6 x 75 cl)

W & J Graham's SIX GRAPES Vintage Character Ruby Port
Description: Six Grapes is one of Graham's original Port blends and is thus one of the Company's oldest marks. It is a very full-bodied, luscious wine drawn from the same vineyards as Graham's Vintage Ports. Blended from two or three years' harvests, the wine is an average of five to six years old when bottled. It follows the Graham's Vintage style very closely, although it has softened more quickly by being matured in oak casks rather than in bottle. Its extremely rich fruity style makes it a truly superb, rare and appealing Port. The rather curious depiction on the bottle of bunches of grapes has always been used to identify the "Six Grapes" blend. (6 x 75 cl)

W & J Graham's 1991 Vintage Port
Description: The Graham family entered the Port trade in 1820, when William and John Graham, manning the Douro office, accepted a consignment of Port as settlement of a bad debt. The Port was sent on to their main offices in Glasgow, Scotland, where it proved very popular, and the seed had been sown. After the harvest, wines of Vintage potential are put into oak barrels called 'pipes'. Some eighteen months later a careful and painstaking series of tastings is held to judge exactly which wines of different vineyards merit inclusion in the final blend. If the ideal blend is achieved, the wine is then bottled without any filtration whatsoever approximately 24 months after the original harvest. Graham's Vintage Ports are the epitome of richness and concentration, and the 1994 vintage is a red full Bodied and Sweet port.
W & J Graham's 1997 Vintage Port
Description: This excellent Vintage has an intense colour with a deep, purple rim. On the nose shows a luscious ripeness with attractive floral aromas and undertones of black cherry. On the palate, a typically Graham’s full-bodied structure, packed with layers and layers of fruit and firm tannins. The very long, accomplished finish indicates a great Vintage for long-term ageing. Graham’s wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos near Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta de Vale de Malhadas, also supply Graham with finest quality grapes. All four Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham’s also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their grapes to Graham’s for generations. (12 x 75 cl)

W & J Graham's LBV Port
Description: Like Vintage Port, LBV is a wine of a single year but it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged solely in cask and then bottled at between four and six years old. At the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking without the need for decanting. Graham's LBV has much of the rich full fruity flavour and 'grip' of Vintage Port, combining this with a softness gained through oak ageing. (12 x 37.5 cl)

W & J Graham's 2000 CRUSTED Port
Description: Graham's Crusted Port is produced from very fine, rich and full-bodied wines from recent vintages, drawn from the production of Malvedos and other reputed Quintas owned by the family. Crusted Port is matured in cask for two to three years and subsequently bottled without any filtration. The wine is then aged for a further three years in bottle prior to being offered for sale. The bottle maturation lends this Port its superb balance, complexity and style. Although ready to drink once released, Graham's Crusted will continue to develop in bottle for several years more. It makes a very fine dessert wine. Decant prior to serving. (6 x 75 cl)
