Nearly 85% of the total production of Muscadet comes from the area of Sevre-et-Maine in the Loire Valley. The soil has a great deal of sand content 60-80%, with clay making up 10-30%. The Muscadet grape roots are strong and the vine stock is thick. Muscadet is harvested early to preserve its acidity and give the wine finesse. It is a naturally early-ripening grape, with the vintage usually in the second half of September. This wine is dry, light-bodied, with charm and fruitiness. Balanced acidity with an attractive nose.
