Description: The Poliziano estate was purchased by the Carletti family in 1961 and today it is run by Federico Carletti, assisted by oenologist Carlo Ferrini. This wine is a blend of Sangiovese, merlot, canaiolo nero and mammolo and is aged for two years in oak, 2/3 in large neutral barrels and 1/3 in small barriques. Dark violet ruby in color and on the nose it is showing supple new leather, dried berries, smoke and currants. Big and chewy with velvety currants, with hints of amare and tremendous new leathery depths. Pepper, violets and citrus zest on the lovely, lengthy, complex finsh. (12 x 75 cl)
