Waterford WATERFORD ESTATE Chardonnay Stellenbosch RSA
Description: The fountain in the Waterford courtyard is a symbol of the exuberance of the Waterford Way and the distinctive wines that are born of this land. The uniqueness of the terroir, the passion of these two families who own Waterford and the masterful talent of winemaker Kevin Arnold form a catalyst for wines that are relished around the world. Barrel fermented in 100% French oak from 60% first fill, 20% second fill and 20% third fill barrels the wine spends 3 months ageing in barrel on primary lees, with battonage once a week. Clear, green straw coloured wine with tints of green has aromas of nuts as well as elegant toast on the nose. Clean, fresh lemon and lime flavours reveal grapefruit, lime and juicy Kiwi fruit on the palate. Understated, rich finesse, restrained by refreshing acidity lead to a long elegant finish.
